The course produces Theatre Technicians that provide assistance to surgeons during major and minor surgeries in theatres across private and government hospitals in Kenya.
The course takes 2 years (6 semesters) for certificate and 3 years (9 semesters) for Diploma.
Training involves theories and more of practicums weekly and industrial attachments and 6 months internship to expose students to hands on work due to the delicate nature of the human body/patient that requires competency.
Examiners of Perioperative Theatre Technology are KNEC/CDACC and its accrediting body is Perioperative Theatre Technologists Association (POTTA), who after qualifying grants working Licences to students.
