The course produces Nutritionists (Clinical, Community, Sports, Food Science and Consultants) who are aimed at using diets to treat patients, the vulnerable groups in the community that include the elderly, expectants mothers, those with chronic diseases and malnourished children and athletes.
The course takes 2 years (6 semesters) for certificate and 3 years (9 semesters) for Diploma.
Training involves theories and more of practicums weekly, industrial attachments and 6 months internship to expose students to hands on work for purpose of managing diseases and lifestyle using diets efficiently and effectively.
Nutrition and Dietetics course is examined by KNEC and is regulated by Kenya Nutritionists and Dietician Institute (KNDI), the board that accredits the college, indexes students and licences students after qualifying.
